Rubber Linings
Pre-vulcanised and post-vulcanised rubber lining for primary corrosion protection.
Rubber lining is used for primary corrosion protection in aggressive chemical environments. It can be used as a membrane behind granite blocks, granite tiles and brick lining, when the thermal and abrasion process limit is in use on the primary protection layer. Rekha Industries offers a range of pre-vulcanised and post-vulcanised rubber lining depending on the duty conditions and area of application.
Rubber lining is used for many applications including resistance to acid, chemicals and alkalis, abrasion resistance and impact protection.
Types of rubber used across industries
- Soft natural rubber — used in pickling tanks and storage tanks for resistance to hydrochloric acid and sulphuric solution, for use as an acid pickling solution.
- Ebonite rubber — used where a higher degree of chemical resistance is required, and widely used in high-speed continuous pickling lines, electro pickling and electro thinning plants.
The lining is carried out in accordance with IS 4682 Part I 1996 by slatted liners and cured with steam in open steaming, or in an autoclave with hot water or live steam. The lining is tested using a high-voltage spark testing machine, both pre-cured and post-cured.
Rekha Industries also carries out rubber lining of tanks at customer project sites. This work ranges from full strip and relines of very large tanks to very small pin-hole repairs in small tanks.
